22. 'Lost' and 'The Stand'
"The writers and creators of Lost have specifically stated on several occasions that Stephen King's 1977 [c1978] novel The Stand never leaves the writer's room. On podcasts and in interviews, Abrams, Lindelof, and Cuse repeatedly hint at the importance of the book, its characters, and storyline.
